Brendan Paddy

Head of Communication
Disasters Emergency Committee

Brendan leads the communications work of 13 major UK aid agencies when there is a overwhelming crisis in a poor county.
He ran UK appeal communications for the Haiti and Nepal earthquakes, the 2010 Pakistan floods, the 2011 East Africa crisis and the conflict in Syria.
Working with a tiny team and limited budgets he has helped create a significant digital presence for the DEC more or less from scratch.
Prior to working at the DEC he led crisis media work for Amnesty International and Save the Children in Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Liberia, Zimbabwe and Iran.
